\*New lines at Fujifilm's Ashigara plant will add about a fifth to its instax film output.

Fujifilm is building new instax film production lines at its Ashigara Site in Minami-Ashigara, Kanagawa Prefecture. The company announced the work on 20 October and put the cost at about ¥3 billion. The lines will come into operation in stages from spring 2027, with full operation expected in spring 2028.

Once they are running, Fujifilm expects instax film capacity to be about 20 percent above its fiscal 2026 level. Counting the investments it has made since 2022, capacity will be about 70 percent above fiscal 2022\. The company gives demand as the reason: instax sales reached ¥200 billion in fiscal 2025, a fifth consecutive record year, and business use at events, in shops, and in promotions is growing.

The release does not say which film formats the new lines will produce, and it says nothing about price.
