The Wall Street Journal reported on 27 September that talks over the sale of Blackstone's 45 percent stake in Leica Camera have ended. According to Leica Rumors' summary of the article, the Journal cited a person familiar with the matter and said the stake had earlier been reported as possibly going to a Chinese investor.

Leica builds about 45 flagship M bodies a day, an M6 lists at about $7,000 against more than $10,000 for a digital M11\. About four in five models Leica sells are digital.
